Stop that Spitting
Little Man is such a handful. He started spitting, and I can't get him to stop. Kiddo went through this, but she was older, and we could reason with her. So far, "We only spit when we brush our teeth" just isn't getting the job done. I hope we figure out something soon, bodily fluids all over my floor makes me gag.

I believe in the magic of books
If you haven't seen this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKVcQnyEIT8&sns=em - go watch it - right now.
I spent 15 minutes last night trying to convince Kiddo this was real. Because books are magic, and I think it would be AWESOME if they came alive at night when all the people went home.

15 Minutes
Fifteen minutes. That's how long I give myself to be upset about something. After my fifteen minutes are up, I either need to decide what I'm going to do to "fix it", or else I need to move on.
I think in generally, it helps me to lead a happier life. I can tell when I've ignored my rule.....when a situation consumes me. It's not good for anyone.

No Take Backs
Kiddo is in the middle of learning a hard lesson. She showed her friend a bag of hand me down dresses, and the friend liked one particular dress. Kiddo said she could have it, and 30 minutes later decided she really liked the dress and didn't want to give it away.
We had a long discussion about how you can't give something away, and then decide you want it and take it back. There was drama, tears were shed, fits were thrown, there may have been a time-out in the bathroom.
They seem to be playing happily this morning, though......hopefully the worst is over (this time)

Flashback to 1982
Tonight when I was tucking Kiddo into bed, we were talking about what will happen if her foot still hurts tomorrow. She's worried no one will play with her at recess. She told me that she mostly plays tetherball - with 5 boys. That's my girl. When I was in grade school, I spent every reces playing football/4square/baseball with the boys.

Grocery Store Marketing Games
Those stupid grocery store contest stickers. They're driving me crazy. I know I won't win...but SOMEONE has to win, right? Luckily there's only another couple of weeks, and then I can go back to just shopping.....

With visions of New Year's Resolutions stuck in their heads
I love January 2nd. Seeing all those people with New Year's resolutions still fresh in their heads.
Today I saw 7 people running/walking on my way to drop Bubs off at daycare. Next week, I'm sure that number will be down to 4.
I remember a couple of years ago, taking a yoga class at the gym....the first week of the new year was hell, because the classes were PACKED. Luckily, by the end of the month, it was back to the regular group.

31/366 Day 1
31/366 Day 1
I was a bad niece today. I called my Aunt yesterday to see if we could stop by if we were in her town today. She sounded excited. Today, we ended up not going....but I never called her. Crap
