40 Day Running Challenge Complete!

Last Friday was the final day of the 40 day running challenge inspired by www.chicrunner.com. I am proud that I made it - I ran 113 miles, according to my Nike+, and I know there were runs here and there that didn't get recorded. Also in the mix were 7 days of soccer games, where I didn't log miles, but DEFINITELY ran!

What did I learn during the 40 day challenge?

- I still enjoy running
- Getting up at 5:30 really is the only way to get my runs in
- My dog is getting slow (I can't take her with me unless I'm only walking)
- While I do enjoy running, I probably shouldn't do it every day. I need to give myself rest days
- 270 degrees (this will be a whole other post)

So.....what's next? On the running front, I want to pick a race to train for. Probably a half marathon, not sure if I'll get my husband to run it with me this year because of his school schedule, but we'll see.

I saw a new blog last week: www.run-nation.com. I'm thinking about writing something and submitting it - hey, you never know!

I'm toying with the idea of another 40 day challenge. Possibly committing to writing on this blog every day for 40 days, possibly something to do with housework (boring as hell, but I know I need to do it)

  1. That is such an awesome accomplishment! I hope you find a race to train for as well. I used to love running and have just gotten back into it a little bit. It's such a great feeling. I'm finding I can only get mine done early in the morning now, too.
